Description
The principal establishes the vision and direction of the school with the support of faculty, staff, and the Board of Directors. The principal will guide and create a safe and effective learning environment for its students. The principal provides leadership in curriculum and instruction and is responsible for the development, evaluation, and supervision of all its employees. The principal will motivate instructional and support personnel to strive for excellence and provide the best possible opportunities for student growth and development, both academically and spiritually.
Areas of responsibility include:
- Build a shared vision for student achievement and promote a culture of shared responsibility
- Effectively manage change and innovation to improve student achievement and opportunities
- Represent the school at educational conferences and community events and remain abreast of relevant advances in educational and curriculum
- Promote, support, and lead professional development opportunities to ensure the development of professional team and growth for all staff
- Increases teacher effectiveness by hiring, placing, and retaining effective staff and managing the performance of all instructional staff through rigorous and effective evaluations
- Develop and utilize data to inform teaching and learning and to evaluate instructional program outcomes
- Establish curriculum guidelines in collaboration with Curriculum Coordinator and department leaders and ensure that guidelines are adhered to
- Engage families and community members as partners in the success of each student
- Develop marketing and recruitment strategies to ensure outreach and retention of students/enrollment
- Allocates resources effectively to support shared vision and school goals
- In conjunction with the Board of Directors, help with fundraising efforts for the school and its current and future programs
- Complies with legal and ethical requirements in relationships with all stakeholders and follows all applicable state, federal, and district policies, procedures, and guidelines

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in education or related field; (doctorate preferred)
- Minimum 5 years combined experience as a classroom teacher, counselor, and/or school administrator
