C. & E. Merdinian Armenian Evangelical School’s community gathered for a heartwarming and cultural celebration

Los Angeles, CA – On March 2nd, C. & E. Merdinian Armenian Evangelical School’s community gathered for a heartwarming and cultural celebration 

at the United Armenian Congregational Church. The concert, titled In the Name of Life, In the Name of Love, In the Name of Peace (Յանուն Կեանքի, Յանուն սիրոյ, Յանուն Խաղաղութեան), featured the talented middle school students of Merdinian who presented a powerful program, blending folk and patriotic Armenian songs alongside well-known psalms, hymns, dance, and musical selections.

"As an alumna, I can personally attest to the lifelong impact of a Merdinian education," said Interim Principal Shogher Shanoian. "It is so much more than academics—it is about transformation. It is about raising a generation that is grounded in faith, dedicated to excellence, and committed to serving both God and community. And tonight, we have seen that transformation in action," she continued.

Rev. Shant Barsoumian led the invocation, reminding all attendees of the power of music in connecting the community with both faith and heritage.

The program concluded with I Am Your Artsakh, You Are My Armenia (Ես Քո Արցախն եմ, Դու Իմ Հայաստանը), a song by Hayat Project, which left the audience filled with a sense of pride and inspirati

on. This concert was an important occasion for the Merdinian community, showcasing the school’s dedication to preserving Armenian culture, fostering a love for learning, nurturing the next generation of leaders, and cultivating a legacy of faith and excellence.
